Walkthrough
Sorry that we are not giving the passwords, but this IS a game. However we will point you in the right direction (also we dont want to face any legal problems)
Trailhead:
Starts with this video. An enigmatic video by the Mayor of El Dorado, Juan Ramon. A elderly hispanic male, telling us of a wonderful prize for the one who solves the puzzle. If you look in the keywords of this video, you can find a 6-digit number. That number is the ammount of time it takes to pour the perfect Guinness. Which is the reason why Guinness's slogan is "Good things come to those who wait." Keep this saying in mind, it shows up many times in this game.
Down the Rabbit Hole (Molino de Fenix):
After entering the first first code, the first video is unlocked. If you look in the background, a bag of grain is clearly visible, embroidered with the company logo of Molino de Fenix. Utilizing the search at the bottom of the site, we find http://www.molinodefenix.com/# if you e-mail the address provided, a clue is given to you. This clue refers to the grain at the bottom-right of the page. Click on the picture and solve the puzzle (balance weights). Protip: Make sure you do NOT veer from the main page before you click on the picture. If you do, you will not be able to open up the flash for the puzzle in question.
Later addition to source code: 2*5-&0 +(8/5)^2||456(4*7)
Don Pedro Movers:
If you look closely, the crates in the next video are clearly labled. Search for that company in youtube and you will recieve this video:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xy6HDNaI6w The next code is in that movie.
Apataller de Autos:
In our next video, tires seem to be a big focus. If you look in Mayor Ramon's room, we see a tire on the far left corner. If you can strain your neck to read what the tire says, it will lead you to this next site http://arpatallerdeautos.com/# Remember, a clean car is a happy car bro. Use that yellow rag to clean that dirty door. The next code will be unlocked. Great job bro.
Later Addition to source code: My car broke down, I need help looking for the part number
The Sands of Time:
In the next video, we see some books being tossed around, and the bookshelf is now unlocked. Upon closer inspection, we see a large sign on the bookshelf. This sign is you next clue. It leads you to the site http://www.arenasdetiempo.com/# If you play around with the flash page Hint: Drag your mouse around the bookshelf the shelf will light up. Find the black book and you get your next password.
Later addition to source code: res bonus supervenio illis quod exspecto
Buenas Cosas!:
After some major inspection and searching for the next clue, your clever deduction skills will lead you to http://www.flickr.com/photos/diegopaz_1975/ this site. Now, I'm not just going to tell you which picture the code is in, but look around. It's not too hard to find.
The Golden Matchsticks?:
If you are not thrown off by that clever red-herring at the beginning of the movie, you will find the next site: http://www.dominodorado.com/ Open the box of matches, and solve the puzzle. Note: A new binary message has been inserted into the source. It translates to "Do not try to use this number it will reset your clues: 110010" At one time it unlocked video 8 but not the domino. At this moment we are not sure exactly what this password does. UPDATE 11/5/07 - THIS CODE WILL RESET ALL YOUR DOMINOES - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
The Guzmam Family:
After maticulous inspection of the this video, we have concluded that the next site is indeed http://carniceriaguzmam.com/ However, this is where we were stuck for 11 days. Sending a message to Mr. Guzmam gets an automated response that states he will be back in a few days with some important information. An email sent to us on Nov. 7, 2007 gives us a puzzle http://www.carniceriaguzmam.com/perfecto/ the solve is http://www.flickr.com/photos/redhatty/1908667478/
Inclinar El Punto:
This seemingy innocent newspaper page http://inclinarelpunto.com/# has an insidious secret - if you mouse over the matches, the page burns up. You have to QUICKLY get the hose from the firefighters (in the pic - double clicking) and put out the fire to solve the puzzle & get your code - this may take a few tries to get it!
Guirado Buitrago:
This watchmaker has a puzzle for us http://www.guiradobuitrago.com/#. You have to assemble the watch in a specific order - you know you are on the right track if the pieces keep spinning. A little trial and error will get you a solve.
La Fuente de Musica:
And now we get to the final puzzle http://www.lafuentedemusica.com/# First you may want to use F11 to get a full page view . Then you have to plug in the jukebox, the plug is down at the bottom right, under the outlet. Then play the songs in the order of the pages we have visited. Here is the order:
